BRIEFS is the East Bay Express’ annual Erotic Short Film Competition, showcasing works by amateur and professional adult filmmakers from around the world. In its 8th year, the one night screening explored the limits of erotic filmmaking in a liberating and entertaining format ideal for sex-positive film lovers of every gender and orientation.

Judges included Maxine Holloway, Mistress of Public Health (MPH), Founder of #AskFirst Campaign, and Co-founder of BAWS; Jet Noir, creator of The Black Manifest, an all Black, all male burlesque revue, a sex educator and the first man hired to dance for the infamous Mitchell Brothers O’Farrell Theatre; Anna Pulley, a sex and culture writer in Oakland. Her first book, The Lesbian Sex Haiku Book (with Cats!) is every bit as glorious as it sounds; and Brittany Moore, Co-founder of Blunts + Moore Cannabis Dispensary, and member of several community organizations, including the Hood Incubator, Minority Cannabis Business Association, NORML, and Women Grow. BRIEFS teams up with various sponsors and partners who generously support the event. This year’s sponsors included:Drake’s Brewing Co., Tourettes Without Regrets, Sacramento Horror Film Festival, PinkLabel.tv,The Watergarden, and The Uptown Nightclub.
