CROWDFUNDING PORN: Wotever DIY Film Festival
The annual Wotever DIY Film Festival launched in 2012 with a mission to showcase the best DIY, low and no budget film from the LGBTQIA+ community. Wotever DIY Film Festival is raising funds to provide reduced/free ticket pricing, subtitling and BSL Interpreters, and Audio description.
The festival is part of Wotever World, a queer arts, performance and activism collective based in London. A regular programme of events take place at Bar Wotever, held weekly at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern.
The festival has grown from a one-evening event to a year long programme of screenings and workshops, culminating in a 2 day festival. 2014 and 2015 saw the event taking residence in the beautiful Cinema Museum, while 2016’s event will be held September 3rd and 4th at DIY Space for London.
Queer filmmakers, professionals, and enthusiastic amateurs come together to show that you don’t need a gazillion ‘quid’ to make a cracking film. Working towards greater inclusivity and accessibility, the festival believes that filmmaking and viewing should be for everyone, regardless of budget.
