Description:

Two strangers (queer women) meet on the road and travel together in a van through rural Germany. Eventually they build trust and have a sexual encounter during their journey. They go from strangers to lovers. We are confronted with the thought: What's the beauty of being vulnerable with a stranger for a given moment in time even it does not last forever? Does it have to last forever or is it more about the quality / empathy of our encounters that matter?

Their exchange might be limited in time but both performers are in an empathic sexual exchange - respectful and consent based. They might be strangers but even as strangers they are committed to each other's wellbeing and needs and that's the beauty of their relationship. "The Stranger" is just as strange as we are willing to give and share... maybe with a stranger we feel also more entitled to be brutally honest. The stranger is an interesting archetype. In this film there is no "stranger danger" vibe but we display an opportunity to talk about vulnerability with new people we encounter. In queer culture the "quick sex with a stranger" is more a topic in gay men culture but not so much in the lesbian scene. This is also a reason why intentionally show two women having a one night stand.
