This Human World 2015 Shine Louise Houston

The International Human Rights Film Festival in Austria will screen Shine Louise Houston’s film retrospective on December 4th, 2015. The program “Every Time We Fuck, We Win” presents representations of sexuality in cinema that are created with self-determination and portray queer sexuality with honesty and respect.

“Her work is on the forefront of questioning dominant representations of bodies and sexualities and producing pleasure for queer-feminist lovers world-wide,” say festival curators.

Included in the screening are clips from Houston’s 2005 film debut, The Crash Pad and two other feature films that span her early days as a director honing her craft: the “pomo-homo-docu-porno” mocumentary The Wild Search and the Feminist Porn Award’s “Movie of the Year” winner, CHAMPION: Love Hurts. The clip show continues with samples spanning gender and sexuality with scenes from CrashPadSeries.com and Houston’s masculine appreciation project, Heavenly Spire. It concludes with the director’s most recent short film projects, such as BED PARTY: Eden Alexander and Sebastian Keys and PUT the NEEDLE on the RECORD.
