It’s feminist porn season, and we’re sponsoring the awards! The 9th Annual Feminist Porn Awards (presented by sex-positive Canadian sex shop Good For Her) will take place April 3-4 in Toronto, Ontario. Feminist porn is a framework used to define and discuss pornography created by a growing number of female, independent, and queer pornographers (like much of the work on PinkLabel.tv). Its definition often includes production ethics with gender equality and socio-economic values at its core. Many describe it in relation to expanding conventional ideas about desire and beauty standards, sex-positive ideas of gratification and power dynamics, and ethical notions of equal pay, performer sexual health and consent. And, it’s hot!

Join Good For Her, for a screening of erotic films and a Q&A with this year’s filmmakers moderated by CoCo La Crème. Please note this event is 18+.
The Bloor Hot Docs Cinema (506 Bloor Street West) is accessible and has an accessible washroom. Online tickets are available via Brown Paper Tickets or you may purchase tickets in person at Good For Her (175 Harbord Street) and at the event. There are a limited number of sliding scale tickets available at Good for Her. These tickets must be purchased in advance.

Clips from ten nominated films will be screened at Public.Porn.Provocative on Thursday, April 3rd at The Bloor Hot Docs Cinema, including BED PARTY by Shine Louise Houston/Pink and White Productions, and Trans Grrrls by Courtney Trouble/TROUBLEfilms, and Silver Shoes by Jennifer Lyon Bell/Blue Artichoke Films.
