bruce is a young trans director who loves to work on genre movies, especially porn and horror flicks. He’s also an activist and has made two movies about rights for trans people. His films include: Sweeter than roses (2010), Pornation (2012), Beware (2012), Vos papiers (2013), and Trips (2013).

His safer sex short AVEC TOI, J’EN METS PAS, (from Frances’ campaign “Tu sais quoi?” will screen at the Good Vibrations QUICKIES indie erotic short film competition. The film was created when a French LGBT site, Yagg.com, asked several filmmakers to do short safe sex movies, and wanted bruce to do one about trans people. bruce decided to showcase the way that trans men can be pressured to have unprotected sex. While the film, staring Tom Nanty, Beck Heiberg, and M’ includes naked cis and trans male bodies (as well as glitter!) it is not sexually explicit.

While bruce has a background in making films with explicit scenes and nudity, a few of his works are not porn-related, including a co-directed film, Beware, about about depsychiatrisation for transpeople, and a documentary about ID papers for trans people, Vos papiers. However, he says that for him, there’s no difference between making porn or non-porn movies: both have a story to tell and as a director he tries to make everything happen so that he can tell it the best that he can.

And i wanted to show a difficult situation in which the character has to think really quick of what he wants in terms of his personal safe sex strategy. So i hope that this movie can make us think of this kind of situation before it may happen. The goal is to respond to it without feeling the pressure or the heat of the moment.

bruce’s next project is editing a movie by Thembela Dick, produced by my soccer team, Les Dégommeuses: it’s about a black lesbian soccer team in South Africa, the Thokozani Football Club, called Kick off.
