The BBC’s new series Queer Britain explores queer life in the UK, and they don’t shy away from sex.

Six episodes take a multifaceted look at the culture and challenges faced by many in the LGBTQ+ community, covering religion, body image, homelessness, racism, and porn, and what it means to be ‘queer’ in 2017. (We appreciate their Information and Support page, which offers resources for those effected by some of the topics covered.)

Queer Britain is hosted by Riyadh Khalaf, a young YouTuber and journalist of Middle Eastern and Irish heritage, who uses his own personal experiences to explore issues affecting many 16-35-year-old LGBTQ+ people across the UK.

The segment Episode 5 “Porn Idols” features Pink and White Productions founder/owner Shine Louise Houston and performer Jiz Lee. Guests from the UK include Gods Girl model and producer Blath, cam model and trans porn creator Cookie, and George, director of Hung Young Brit. Clips in the episode include PUT the NEEDLE on the RECORD, The Crash Pad, and a behind the scenes peek at Shine’s newest film SNAPSHOT. Shine and Jiz discuss the value of visibility made possible by queer pornography.
