Failed Films returns with a virtual fundraiser show!

Failed Films Festival is back!

The bold, risk-taking, and one-of-a-kind explicit film festival “Failed Films” comes kicking, screaming, and kissing to your preferred screen a collection of Failed Films’ favorites.

After a 2-year hiatus, the Failed Films Festival returns on Sunday, March 20th 2:00PM PST with a 90 min program and filmmaker talk showcasing 16 awe-inspiring films from past presentations.

A ticket supports the group’s fundraiser for their 2022 festival, allowing access to the special live broadcast of the screening plus a full week of streaming access running through March 27th. (So if you’ve got plans on March 20th, don’t worry, you can still check out the films even if you miss the livestream!)

Featured directors include Damien Moreau, Nikki Silver and Carnegie Velvet, Evie Echovia, Egon Mouth, Jillian Cantwell, Jason Hood, Lauren West, Janesta Edmonds, Bambi Turner, Dahlia Snow, Mineko Brand, Rhea DeCaro, Syd Yocom, Saint Yocom, Ramses Rodstein, Manuel D. Lira, Antone Martinez, and Felony Dodger.

Here’s a look at some past highlights:

What is Failed Films?

Failed Films seeks to showcase artists at all stages of their expression and from all walks of life. The project seeks to celebrate those among us who function on the periphery, and bring those artists into focus. It seeks to subvert the long-held ideals and traditions that leave many excluded. Failed Films is here, ready, and waiting to embrace the radical self expression and wildly imaginative antics that you and yours dare to share.

Participating artists are members and allies of BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities, and many work within the sex industry. These are vibrant communities of creative people who are frequently overlooked by mainstream art establishments. Though sexual art is often indiscriminately labeled as obscene, this community holds a wealth of deep expression, connection, and emotion; all ingredients for rich work deserving of celebration.

The goal is to raise money for Failed Films Season 5, which will be happening in LA this summer! Since its Bay Area inception in Fall 2016, the events have featured nearly two hundred pieces of art, from all around the world, carving out a much needed space for new work and emerging artists. The mission of Failed Films is to provide support, resources, and an audience for local artwork with a wonderfully perverted approach.

If that gets you excited, submissions are now open for Season 5. Failed Films dares you to make something!
