European adult film festival La Fête du Slip celebrated its 10th anniversary. We spoke to LFdS organizer Valentina about the occasion, and to learn a bit more about Zurich’s long-standing festival.

What is La Fête du Slip?
La Fête du Slip is sex-positive international festival dedicated to post-porn, queer and feminist culture, hosting during 4 days more than 40 movies and many performances, shows, workshops and parties. It happens in many locations in the city of Lausanne, in Switzerland, like theaters, clubs and art spaces.

How did the festival celebrate its 10th anniversary? 
For this Xth edition we celebrated the X as a symbol for post-porn, for trans and nonbinary identities, and as a crossroad between pleasures and politics. We did a great and big party with gender fuck strip performers, DJs and live music, and a retrospective exhibition telling the story of the festival. Our wish was to keep awake the memory of our event, in order to remember where La Fête du Slip comes from. In fact 10 years ago it was a very different context, much more hostile to our proposition and the festival kept growing and taking more space even though it was based on volunteer work and little resources. We can be proud of that! To congratulate and celebrate the funders of the festival, the partners and the team was a great feeling of collective accomplishment.

What do you look forward to in future years? 
We look forward to see younger people continue and transform the work we’re doing, taking care of the festival as a safer, creative and freer space for gender non-conforming artists and topics, keeping it rooted to a political and responsible practice of art, adding new concerns and topics that will be important for them regarding their context.

They can follow us in our platform where there are 5 films available for free, they can participate to the online conferences during the festival and they can go on PinkLabel.TV to see a selection of films. We’re hoping to do more online programming in the next years!
