Inspired by Feminist porn icon, Annie Sprinkle who said “The answer to bad porn isn’t no porn… it’s to try and make better porn!” Good For Her created this event to honor the artists who create sex-positive work with Feminist sensibilities. These sensibilities include: expanding the representations sexuality, the employment of women and other marginalized peoples in the creation of the work, and the focus on genuine pleasure. Sounds like our kind of party!

WHEN

The Feminist Porn Awards kicks-off Wednesday, April 3rd with a special pre-awards presentation by the ever fantastic Dr. Carol Queen speaking on Absexuality and Erotophobia at University College. On Thursday, check out The Year’s Best in Feminist Film April 4th, 9:30p at the Bloor Cinema with the Public Porn screening and panel discussion. Meet Feminist Porn Boundary Breaker Jiz Lee and many others. The Gala Awards Ceremony happens the following day on Friday, April 5th at the Capitol Theater where you will meet all your favorite Feminist pornstars, movers and shakers. The last day, Saturday, April 6th, is jam packed with Tristan Taormino’s Feminist Porn Conference where Pink & White Production’s Shine Louise Houston will be presenting on her work. Of course, you should definitely not miss ASLAN Leather’s SWITCH after party to close out this awesome weekend!
