Shine Louise Houston founded her porn production company Pink and White Productions in 2005 and hit the ground running with films like The Crash Pad, Superfreak, The Wild Search, CHAMPION, and her latest feature SNAPSHOT. Between feature-length films, she continues to direct CrashPadSeries.com and release a number of short films in addition to her ongoing projects like BED PARTY, Heavenly Spire, or her non-sex fetish side-project Tickle Takedown.

Let’s review some of the short films written and directed by the prolific adult adult filmmaker.

1. OCCUPIED: A Hardcore Romance for the 99%

OCCUPIED stars Maggie Mayhem and Kathryn Dupri, with a cameo by Annie Sprinkle and Beth Stevenson. When an occupy protester dares to strike back at a cop, the chase is on. Officer Dupri soon finds better uses for her baton, and Maggie’s neither passive nor resistant. But can a cop be trusted? Or is all fair in love and class war? Artfully edited and beautifully explicit, OCCUPIED keeps you guessing from start to stop.

Winner of the XBiz Awards’ “Feminist Porn Release of the Year,” the idea of the story was inspired by performer Drew DeVeaux, who was originally cast in the starring role. (Houston was able to work with DeVeaux again later on for another short.)

2. THE BOSS

Legendary Nina Hartley returns as THE BOSS, bunny-slippered head of porn production company Raven Clawz Studios. But where would the Boss be without her faithful assistant, Sara Vibes? It sounds like someone is overdue for a bonus, and this job has a benefits package like no other.

Porn buffs will appreciate Houston’s playful reference to gonzo porn filmmaking during the film’s beautiful sex scene.

3. PUT the NEEDLE on the RECORD

Dubbed a “CrashPad Spin-off,” PUT the NEEDLE on the RECORD stars a squad of CrashPad favorite performers, Drew DeVeaux, Andre Shakti, Ex Libris, and Nikki Darling — and includes a salacious cameo by IT girl herself, Dylan Ryan.

The film has screened across the globe from Frameline to the International Human Rights Film Festival in Austria, Vienna.

4. Writing in Bed

Having sat on the script for years, Houston decided it was finally time to produce the short film Writing in Bed, pairing Ingrid Mouth with the talented acting chops of mainstream porn’s male performer of the year, Tommy Pistol.

Writing in Bed has screened at the Berlin PornFilmFestival and New York’s CINEKINK Film Festival where it took home honors, and was also nominated for “Comedy Performer of the Year” at the 2018 XBiz Awards.

5. BIRTHDAY

Houston’s latest short film is a poetic exploration of narrative storytelling, focusing on a moment in a relationship of Sam and Leo, played by Barbary Rose and Nenna Feelmore. (Fun fact? Nenna appears in a cameo of one of Shine’s feature films, CHAMPION, in a role as a referee, a few years before Nenna decided to create some of her own erotic films, which you can watch here on PinkLabel.TV.)
