Happy Pride! This question has impeccable timing. June is Pride Month here in San Francisco. We celebrate queer and trans made films that showcase queer and trans love as honestly — and sometimes creatively — as can be. Porn is as diverse as the people who make it, and that’s true of the studios hosted on PinkLabel.TV.
Since the 70’s and 80’s, gay and lesbian filmmakers have picked up a camera and created stories that reflect our desires. Contemporary times have made it easier than ever to create and distribute adult content, shifting the power from cis male creators and audiences to people of all genders and orientations to enjoy.
Here are a few queer porn studios/creators making films right now that reflect our communities. Please support their work, and encourage more to be made!
AORTA Films is an award-winning studio creating explicit, experimental queer cinema: lusty, opulent, glorious, fuckery. Currently led by Creative Director Mahx Capacity, AORTA Films produces monthly short films and long-term feature projects. Hailing from queer BDSM community and experimental performance contexts, AORTA Films works collaboratively, prioritizing safe and enthusiastically consensual working processes, centering performers across a wide range of bodies and identities.
We’re fans of their debut film The OH Files, (W/HOLE) project, and first animated title, Queerantine Fantasies.
Based on the award-winning feminist queer porn film The Crash Pad (2005), CrashPadSeries continues where the film leaves off, offering a sexy place for people spanning gender and sexual orientation, including queer women, trans dykes, femme lesbians, bois and butches, genderqueers, studs, trans masculine and trans feminine performers, bisexual and pansexual play partners and porn stars engaging in performer-scripted sex. Watch what happens when the stars call the shots, from safer sex and fingering to vibrators and strap-ons, kink and consent-based communication, and a good time had by all.
CrashPad was created by Shine Louise Houston in 2005. Shine directed the series until 2022, hiring director Ava LaPrima on the project’s 15th anniversary.
ScumTrust is a collection of queer, trans and non-binary monsters in pursuit of exhibiting our inner demons, embracing surreal darkness and exploring woodland mythologies.
Ramses Rodstein Films have screened internationally. Pain Dulce features two Latinx trans folx enjoy a morning romp of pleasure and torment while Besos de Mazapán is a tender, sexy visual nostalgia of trans chicano non binary queerness. In La Limpia, two queer non-binary mexican brujxs, Ramses Rodstein and La Muxer Diosa, come together to do ritual together in honor of Santa Muerte.
Most of us learn about gay sex from the porn we watch, but porn isn’t created to teach you about pleasure, connection, or the power of your sexuality.
Himeros aims to take your sexuality to the next level. Founded by online personality Davey Wavey, Himeros seeks to enhance your experience of sex and sexuality through juicy erotic videos. By watching other men explore sex, you’ll learn new ways to improve your own sexual experiences and fulfillment.
Loved Him depicts two lovers who come together in November 2020 — right at the height of a global pandemic — to fuck for a purpose: The memory of their friends who had died… not in the current pandemic, but in the one before.
Shining a light on hidden histories of queer sexuality and identity.
In the non-explicit film Trade Center, voices of five gay men who cruised for sex at the World Trade Center in the 1980s and 1990s haunt the sanitized, commerce-driven landscape that is the newly rebuilt Freedom Tower campus.
Music video for Holopaw’s “Dirty Boots” follows a sexually-charged day in the life of a gay biker gang in Brooklyn. They awake in a tangle of leather, then suit up and ride to an underground sex club to initiate new members. Boundaries are pushed, but the boys find love, family and the unexpected.
Berlin-based nasty chefs Ethan Folk and Ty Wardwell invite you to join them for tasting menu. Each under 4 minutes, they have to be seen to be believed.
A departure from the menu, Buttermilk Films’ 12 minute docu-porn Mes Chéris lovingly depicts a transboi’s farewell to his boobs. This raunchy tribute subverts straight porn tropes and mainstream trans* representation in a radical act of self-love.
altSHIFT is a partnership of two filmmakers with over 15 years’ experience in feature and short films, TV and branded content. Having created porn together for other companies for over a decade, they started their own studio altSHIFT, utilizing their expertise to create alternative porn that is beautiful, arousing, and unusual.
We want to harness our audiences’ progressive understanding and practice of sexuality, moving away from well-worn porn tropes that can create a false sense of ‘real’ sex. We care about LGBTQ+ stories, kink and BDSM, #MeToo, feminism, ethical non-monogamy, subverting traditional relationship roles, gender fluidity, and the orgasm gap to name a few. We want our porn to turn you on, but also to address the policing of our gender and sexuality.
Rather than being assigned to narrow roles, Praline Studios embodies the visions of our weirdest kinks and fantasies. Helmed by performer-producer Manon Praline, the films showcase her versatility as one of Berlin’s most in-demand performer.
House of Huitlacooch (HoH) is a QTPoC-run, QTBIPoC-centered, Chicago-based kink and BDSM collective that celebrates the vibrancy of alternative representations of sex and pleasure.
As a collective, they are rooted in the belief that we are all sexual beings that are worthy of sexual healing. The collective envisions the existence of community spaces that allow us to workshop our realities free from white-centric and hetero-centric control. By uplifting black, brown, queer, trans, fat, immigrant, and different-abled bodies in our communities, the group creates a gender-affirming sensual-sexual galaxy that reflects all of our fetishes and desires.
Anoushka has worked in alternative porn since 2014, starting alongside pioneering French director Ovidie, and later pursing her own films inspired by her passion for cinema. She uses narrative, original music, and sincerity in her approach to sex scenes and likes dramatic and intimate comedies.
She addresses topical issues and defends what is important to her: sex work, disability, and sexual representation. Anoushka casts an entourage of performers who she considers her porn family and you can feel the chemistry. Strong, powerful, and inclusive, her films are an ode to pluralistic love.
French. Indie. Fun. Sexy. Hot. These words encapsulate the powerhouse performer/producer Carmina and her French queer porn studio. Be on the look out for a future documentary that brings visibility to sex workers’ experiences.
Nicky Miller is a Berlin based genderqueer interdisciplinary artist specializing in film, performance art and creative writing. Originally born in Paris, France and of Vietnamese origins, Nicky has lived and worked extensively in New York City, and Brussels.
LGTBQ+ sexualities and identities are at the core of Nicky’s work. Never afraid of tacking politically sensitive topics or hard issues such as sex-work, fetishism, BDSM and queer sex practices. Their work offers a hallucinative escape from the norms of the society through the desires and sexual emancipation of their characters. Challenging normative structures and conventional thinking, Nicky’s work is redefining society’s perception of queer identities.
ColorBlock Films is an independent adult film studio by and for LGBTQIA+ humans. Prince Poison is a firm believer in porn as transgressive, political, and an essential part of sex education. The reality of the abysmal United States sex education system means many people, especially young queer people, turn to porn as their source of sex education. When they do, we need to provide responsible content. We cannot overlook the power of porn to normalize safer sex practices, model consent, demonstrate safe kink behavior and de-stigmatize queer kinky sexuality. ColorBlock Films celebrates sexuality in its myriad forms while centering the experiences of LGBTQIA+ BIPOC, disabled and neuro-divergent folks, and bodies of all sizes.
Bangor Films is a true independent studio that produces low-budget underground and experimental feature and short films.
Sex & The Silver Gays tells the idiosyncratic story of the randy NYC chapter of a national elder gay men’s organization. Amidst their flurry of elderly activities, the members also actively participate in monthly sex parties. These octogenarian orgiasts invite us to their intimate gatherings, explicitly illustrate their carnal activities, and explain to us who they are, their own shared histories, and what it means to their lives to share joyful, consensual sexual celebrations together for a long as may be possible. A great lesson for us all!
Production company TROUBLEfilms focuses on artistic, erotic, explicit, sex-positive, embodied pornographic films and websites representing the diversity of desire and the art of flesh, sex, and pornography.
TROUBLEfilms focuses on the creative involvement of feminist, queer, and otherwise progressive-thinking ideas in porn making. Headed by award-winning pornographer and performer Courtney Trouble. Established in 2011.
Melting point images was founded by Toni Karat, a Berlin based lesbian non-binary photographer and filmmaker who studied fine arts at the Kunstakademie Duesseldorf and Hochschule der Kuenste Berlin. Their films Driven, The Mirror, and FagDyke Cruising have screened at international festivals. Karat’s films are characterized by the unique display of queer intimacy where camerawork and composed experimental music go hand-in-hand. They thrive for an artistic, hot, and explicit visualization of queer sexuality.
They also focus on BDSM power dynamics and the visibility of lesbian and queer diversity in the feminist porn scene – and – above all: Where are queer people over 50 in porn?
BEYONDEEP is comprised of a duo of multidisciplinary artists who spread love, empower and explode boundaries through their kinky, Black, queer media productions.
Their newest release, Eternal Flame, is a glimpse into BEYONDEEP’s vampy lair of eternal love. A sensual ritual of dominance and submission begins with the sting of a cold chain to the drip from a hot flame, Honey G pounds K Rivers into oblivion.
Carnegie Hole is a lush and intimate cabaret for Black and Indigenous art whores and their paramours. Queer art punk aesthetics drape themselves beguilingly onto a disability justice formed landscape. Carnegie Velvet stars in both beloved award-winning films and brand-spanking-new solo play! Impishly imaginative, ever unusual, and crawling with kink!
Carnegie Hole’s always open and cheering on your liberation, luxuriating in the grime of our fantasies. Accepting shooting inquiries once we’ve all been immunized!
A queer porn studio based in Berlin, Insatiable Pictures has a goal to shoot porn that is as cute as it is intense. They aim to feature bodies and practices which are too often ignored by larger or more mainstream studios. They now have released over a dozen short films exploring exactly that.
Pornorama combines the intensity of sex with cinematography to make a vibrant and sweaty porn. Those who are in charge of embodying your fantasies are bodies that also deserve to be portrayed while showing authentic sex. They seek to expand conceptions of sex and pornography through productions that add artistic value to the experience of watching porn.
EDIY is a deviant porn platform collectively built by restless minds and bodies. Their production seeks to reinvent and refresh sexual imaginaries: representations in traditional porn do not satisfy, neither represent us. They work through desires, investigating their bodies and sharing their horniness.
Ever seeking for more, they hunger for other ways of creating and consuming porn. With the goal to bring a new squirt of pleasures to our screens. (And we thank them for that!)
Vespéral is an indie film project from France, ran by queer performer and artist Ursinae, aiming to explore visual poetry and porn.
Their film OUROBOROS is a festival favorite. As the alchemical ouroboros serpent eating its own tail, the integration and assimilation of the opposites, the beginning and the end, an eternal circle of pleasure. Three persons of different genders, a triangular reciprocality of sexual push and pull, rough and tender threesome, fighting, playing, switching.
Goodyn Green is a Danish photographer and feminist porn film maker living and working in Berlin since 2007.
Her photographic work has been shown in Copenhagen, Tokyo, Warsaw, Bologna, Utrecht, New York, and Berlin. In 2013, Goodyn’s first short porn premiered at PornFilmFestival Berlin, which inspired her to continue shooting feminist porn. In 2015, Goodyn received an honorary PorYes Award. She took home two awards from the Toronto International Porn Festival. Her work has screened at international festivals such as La Fete du Slip in Lausanne, and the Fringe! Film Fest in London.
Noel Alejandro is an independent filmmaker and alternative adult films director whose work explores pornography as a tool to question society’s old standards. His films go beyond the explicit, being set to live in a blend between cinema and erotica.
Noel’s force strives for a more sensitive way of scriptwriting, setting up each story in order to continuously push pre-settled boundaries of filmmaking.
This list is just a taste of films created by queer creators. Hundreds of creators are making content online, and we’re thrilled to see more and more films presented at film festivals around the world. For more selections, browse our collections:
